2013–14 Denver Nuggets season
The 2013–14 Denver Nuggets season was the 47th season of the franchise, and its 38th season in the National Basketball Association (NBA). The Nuggets struggled for much of the year, finishing with a 36-46 record, missing the playoffs for the first time in 11 years. The season was best described as a "tough" off-season for the team: Andre Igoudala, who spent last season with the team left for the Golden State Warriors, in which he helped win a championship with them in 2015, earning MVP honors for his efforts despite not starting a game, Danilo Gallanari missed the entire season due to a knee injury he suffered last year, Randy Foye was acquired via trade involving the Utah Jazz for a potential draft pick and last year's Coach of the Year George Karl was not retained, so former player Brian Shaw would take over as their new head coach. This was Shaw's only full season as coach as would be dismissed midway through next season, replacing him with interim head coach Melvin Hunt for the rest of the season.
